Scientists search for clues to deadly fungal infections in ICU patients
NCT ID NCT07130799
Summary
This study aims to understand why some critically ill patients with severe abdominal infections develop dangerous fungal infections while others do not. Researchers will measure specific immune system markers in 100 patients after abdominal surgery to see if immune weakness predicts fungal infection risk. The goal is to improve early detection and understanding of these serious infections.
