Radiation 'Priming' could make lung cancer treatment more effective
NCT ID NCT07523464
First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This early-phase study tests whether giving a precise, low-dose radiation to the center of a lung tumor can 'prime' the immune system before standard chemoradiation and immunotherapy. About 24 adults with stage III non-small cell lung cancer that cannot be removed by surgery will receive this experimental radiation, followed by one cycle of immunotherapy, then standard treatment. The main goal is to see if this approach is safe and does not cause unacceptable side effects or treatment delays.
