Heart device infection trial: replace now or wait?
NCT ID NCT06250985
Summary
This study is testing whether putting a new heart device in immediately after removing an infected one is safer and more effective than the standard approach of waiting. It involves 176 patients with serious infections of their pacemakers or defibrillators. The goal is to see if this faster reimplantation reduces the risk of death, new infections, or other complications within six months.
