First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This pilot study tested whether a special PET scan tracer called F-18 florbetapir can safely and accurately measure amyloid protein deposits in the heart. Researchers enrolled 23 people with known cardiac amyloidosis and compared their scans to those without the condition. The goal was to see if this imaging method could help diagnose and track the disease without needing a heart biopsy.
