Blood test may spot muscle wasting in dialysis patients

NCT ID NCT07586956

First seen May 21, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether a blood test measuring the ratio of two substances (IGF-1 and albumin) can help identify muscle loss severity in people with end-stage kidney disease on dialysis. About 110 adults will have their blood tested and compared to standard muscle assessments. The goal is to find a simpler way to detect this common complication.
