NCT ID NCT01742975

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a special surgical glue called Ifabond can reduce fluid buildup (seroma) after breast cancer surgery. About 104 women having partial mastectomy, with or without lymph node removal, took part. The glue was applied during surgery, and doctors measured fluid drainage and used ultrasound to check for swelling at 15 and 30 days after surgery. The goal was to see if the glue helps patients heal with less discomfort and fewer needle drainages.
