First seen Apr 10, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study aims to find a biological marker that can identify people at risk of bone loss from glucocorticoid (steroid) treatment. 36 healthy volunteers aged 18-50 will be randomly assigned to receive either a glucocorticoid or a placebo. Researchers will take blood, bone marrow, bone tissue, and fat samples, and perform a glucose test to measure changes in bone turnover markers over 15 days.
