First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looks at whether people aged 60 and older with ulcerative colitis who are in long-term remission can safely stop taking thiopurines (a type of immune-suppressing drug) and stay on just mesalazine. The goal is to see if stopping thiopurines leads to more disease flare-ups over two years. The trial will involve 304 participants across multiple centers.
