Race against time: new system aims to spot ICU weakness in kids before It's too late

NCT ID NCT07150637

Summary

This study aims to create an early warning system to predict when children on breathing machines in intensive care might develop serious muscle weakness. Researchers will follow 1,500 children to identify warning signs and patterns that happen before weakness becomes obvious. The goal is to help doctors intervene earlier, potentially reducing recovery time and long-term disability for these vulnerable patients.
