New sedation drug tested to make critical ICU procedure safer

NCT ID NCT06344949

Summary

This study compared two drugs, ciprofol and propofol, used to sedate patients before inserting a breathing tube in the intensive care unit (ICU). It involved 100 critically ill adults to see which drug caused fewer dangerous drops in blood pressure and other complications during this emergency procedure. The goal was to find a safer sedation method for these vulnerable patients.
