New feeding plan aims to protect ICU patients from choking and pneumonia
NCT ID NCT07195383
Summary
This study is testing a special nutrition program designed to help patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) after their breathing tube is removed. The program uses a specific assessment to guide what and how patients eat, aiming to prevent swallowing problems and reduce the risk of lung infections like pneumonia. Researchers will compare patients on this new program to those receiving standard ICU care to see if it improves nutrition and safety.
