Scientists ask: where do the Tube-Fed calories go?
NCT ID NCT06923813
Summary
This study aims to understand how well patients recovering from a serious ICU stay absorb nutrients when fed through a tube. Researchers will measure the energy in patients' stool and their body's energy use to see how much nutrition from the feeding is actually absorbed. The goal is to improve recovery care and reduce food waste in hospitals.
