Scientists gauge hidden effort of ICU bed exercises
NCT ID NCT07361419
Summary
This study aims to measure how much energy bedridden patients on breathing machines use during standard physical therapy in the ICU. Researchers will monitor 40 critically ill adults using a special device on their ventilator that tracks oxygen use. The goal is to understand the body's workload during therapy to help doctors prescribe safer, more personalized rehab.
