ICU safety test: can changing IV lines less often cut workload without raising infection risk?

NCT ID NCT07183592

Summary

This study aims to find out if changing the tubing connected to a patient's central IV line every 7 days is just as safe for preventing infections as changing it every 4 days. It will involve about 2,830 adult patients in intensive care units who need a central line. The goal is to see if the longer schedule works as well while potentially reducing nursing workload and costs.
