New ICU program aims to keep ventilator patients mentally sharp

Summary

This study tests a nursing-led program called mHELP@ICU to reduce delirium (sudden confusion) in critically ill patients on breathing machines. About 266 adults will be randomly assigned to receive either the program or usual care. The program includes mental activities, physical exercise, and nutritional support to help patients recover better and avoid long-term brain problems.
