Scientists test new Bed-Cycling workout to fight ICU muscle loss

NCT ID NCT05279547

Summary

This study aims to understand which type of bed-cycling exercise is better for stimulating the leg muscles of critically ill patients in the ICU. Researchers will compare steady, moderate cycling with interval training that mixes high and low intensity. They will measure muscle oxygen levels and activity in 100 patients to see which method is safer, more feasible, and provides better muscle stimulation.
