Silencing the chaos: can fewer alarms make hospital ICUs safer and quieter?

NCT ID NCT06175091

Summary

This study aims to see if a new, stricter protocol for managing medical monitor alarms in intensive care units (ICUs) can reduce noise pollution and improve patient safety. It will test if reducing the high number of false or unnecessary alarms—which can cause stress and slow down nurse responses—leads to a quieter environment and better care. The research will involve over 500 adult patients in a French hospital ICU.
