Nationwide blood test hunt aims to stop cancer before it starts
NCT ID NCT03327597
Summary
This study is testing whether screening a large population for a common, early blood condition (MGUS) can help prevent or better manage multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer. Over 80,000 adults in Iceland are having their existing blood samples checked. Those found to have the early condition are being assigned to different monitoring plans to see which approach works best for catching cancer early and improving survival.
