Could simple ice packs be the key to faster, less painful surgery recovery?
NCT ID NCT04564963
Summary
This study tested whether regularly applying ice packs over surgical incisions helps people recover better after major surgery. Researchers enrolled 196 adults having chest, abdominal, or groin surgery. Half were asked to use ice packs every few hours for three days after their operation, while the other half received standard care without ice packs, to see if the ice improved recovery quality and pain.
