Heart device patients share hidden struggles in groundbreaking interviews

NCT ID NCT07258602

Summary

This study aims to better understand the real-life experiences of people living with an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) and their partners or caregivers. Researchers will conduct in-depth interviews with 250 participants to explore how the device affects education, physical health, emotional well-being, and end-of-life planning. The goal is to identify unmet needs and barriers to care that standard questionnaires might miss, ultimately helping to improve support for this patient population.
