First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tested a simple bladder training method called ICCAUT in 400 people who had rectal cancer surgery. The method involves clamping the urinary tube (catheter) and encouraging patients to actively urinate before removing it. The goal was to see if this reduces problems like needing a new catheter or not fully emptying the bladder after surgery.
