New drug cocktails aim to stop bile duct cancer return after surgery

NCT ID NCT07640048

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether adding immunotherapy (adebrelimab) to different chemotherapy or targeted therapy regimens can help prevent cancer recurrence in people with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma who have a high risk of the cancer coming back after surgery. About 90 participants will receive one of three treatment combinations and be compared to historical data. The goal is to see which approach improves survival without recurrence.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Adebrelimab, gemcitabine, cisplatin, apatinib, S-1

What this could lead to

If successful, this could identify better post-surgery treatments to delay or prevent cancer recurrence in high-risk patients.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-phase real-world study without randomization, so results may not be conclusive. Side effects from chemotherapy and immunotherapy can be severe.
