Ancient herb tested as new weapon against acne scars

NCT ID NCT07076784

Summary

This study tested whether a gel made from icariin, a compound found in the herb horny goat weed, can improve acne and reduce the appearance of acne scars. Twenty-five adults with acne and scars applied the gel to one side of their face and a control solution to the other side twice daily for two months. Researchers counted acne lesions and scars before and after to see if the icariin gel worked better than the control.
