Scientists track mystery antibody in rare Muscle-Wasting disease

NCT ID NCT05046821

Summary

This study aims to understand how a specific antibody in the blood relates to the progression of sporadic inclusion body myositis (sIBM), a rare, progressive muscle disease. Over two years, 150 adults with sIBM will be observed every six months to track changes in their strength, mobility, and breathing. The research does not test a treatment but seeks to gather knowledge that could guide future therapies.
