Own blood used to heal jaw pain in new trial
NCT ID NCT07188974
Summary
This study tested if injecting a patient's own processed blood (called i-PRF) into the jaw joint helps more than the standard washing procedure (arthrocentesis) for TMJ disorders. Forty adults with jaw pain and limited mouth opening were randomly assigned to receive either the injection after washing or just the washing. Researchers measured pain levels and how wide participants could open their mouths over one month to see which treatment worked better.
