First seen Mar 05, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tests a new way to retreat failed root canals using a patient's own blood proteins (i-PRF) to help the tooth heal. About 140 adults with persistent infections after a previous root canal will get either standard retreatment or the regenerative approach. Researchers will track healing, pain, and tooth survival over two years to see if the regenerative method works better.
