First seen Dec 08, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study followed 113 adults with myotonic dystrophy (Steinert disease) for 5 years to find out why some develop low oxygen levels (hypoventilation). Researchers measured lung function, sleepiness, fatigue, and thinking skills. The goal was to better understand the breathing patterns in this condition, not to test a new treatment.
