Low magnesium may worsen sepsis clotting risk

NCT ID NCT07576621

First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study examined whether low magnesium levels are connected to blood clotting problems in people with sepsis, a serious infection. Researchers observed 150 adults in the intensive care unit to see if low magnesium increased the risk of a severe clotting condition called disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC). The goal was to better understand this relationship, not to test a new treatment.
