First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tested whether a team of doctors and nurses, guided by an intelligent early-warning system, could reduce dangerous low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) in hospitalized adults with type 2 diabetes who were using insulin pumps. Over 1,200 participants received either standard care or the team-based intervention, which included personalized insulin adjustments and extra monitoring. The goal was to see if the smart system could help patients reach their blood sugar targets faster and with fewer hypoglycemic episodes.
