Mind over pain: study tests hypnosis and VR as Drug-Free pain relief
NCT ID NCT04869553
Summary
This study tested whether hypnosis and virtual reality could help reduce pain during repeated medical procedures like wound care. Researchers compared these mind-based distraction techniques in 52 patients who experienced painful treatments at least three times. The goal was to see if these methods could provide pain relief as an alternative or supplement to pain medications like morphine.
