Mind over matter: can hypnosis or VR calm cancer patients?
NCT ID NCT07386392
Summary
This study aims to see if adding hypnosis or virtual reality sessions to standard hospital care can help reduce anxiety and stress for adults newly diagnosed with a serious blood cancer (acute myeloid leukemia). Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either standard care, standard care plus hypnosis, or standard care plus virtual reality during their initial intensive chemotherapy treatment. The main goal is to measure changes in anxiety levels and see if these mind-based techniques improve the overall treatment experience.
