Hypnosis offers new hope for breathlessness in cancer and lung disease

Summary

This study tests whether three hypnosis sessions can help people with persistent breathlessness feel more in control of their breathing. It includes 82 adults with advanced cancer, COPD, lung scarring, or heart failure who have severe shortness of breath. Participants will attend hospital visits for hypnosis and report changes in breathlessness and quality of life.
