Barbershops become frontline in fight against high blood pressure

NCT ID NCT05447962

Summary

This study tested a program that trains barbershop workers to screen Black men for early signs of high blood pressure, provide lifestyle advice, and help them connect with doctors and community services. It involved 430 men across 20 barbershops to see if this community-based approach is better than just giving out information. The goal was to lower blood pressure, prevent full-blown hypertension, and improve long-term health connections.
