First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tests whether breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber (hyperbaric oxygen therapy) can reduce long-term symptoms like headaches, memory problems, and mood changes in veterans and active military with mild to moderate traumatic brain injury. About 420 participants will receive either real treatment or a placebo (normal air in an unpressurized chamber) for 40 sessions over 12 weeks. Researchers will also check if it helps with PTSD, thinking skills, and other health markers.
