Pressurized oxygen tested as potential boost for stubborn bowel disease
NCT ID NCT07257588
Summary
This study is testing whether adding hyperbaric oxygen therapy (breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber) to standard treatment helps people with severe, hard-to-treat ulcerative colitis. Researchers will compare two groups of 44 patients to see if the oxygen therapy leads to better symptom control and bowel healing. The goal is to see if this approach provides clearer relief for patients when usual treatments aren't enough.
