First seen Feb 13, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study looks at whether early treatment with hyperbaric oxygen (breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber) can improve pain, swelling, and function in people with a recent ankle sprain. About 208 adults with a sprain within the last 72 hours will be randomly assigned to receive either standard care or standard care plus hyperbaric oxygen. Researchers will track ankle scores and recovery over three years.
