First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study tests whether a capsule form of hyoscine butylbromide (a drug that calms stomach and bowel movements) can improve the view during painless gastrointestinal endoscopy. About 74 adults scheduled for upper GI endoscopy will receive either the drug or a placebo before the procedure. The goal is to see if the pill works as well as injected versions, without the pain and anxiety of needles.
