Drug trial aims to help kids breathe easier
NCT ID NCT02615938
Summary
This study tested whether the drug hydroxychloroquine could help children with rare, chronic lung scarring diseases breathe better. It involved 35 young patients and had two parts: one to see if starting the drug helped, and another to see if stopping it made symptoms worse. The trial was terminated early, and the goal was to control the disease, not cure it, as patients would likely need ongoing treatment.
