Common disinfectant could supercharge breast cancer radiation therapy

Summary
This study tests whether injecting a very dilute hydrogen peroxide solution into breast tumors can make standard radiotherapy work better. The treatment, called KORTUC, is given twice a week during radiotherapy and has shown promising results in Japan, with nearly all small tumors disappearing. The trial involves 184 adults with advanced or recurrent breast cancer who need high-dose radiation. Side effects are mostly mild injection-site discomfort.
