Summary

This small study tested whether inhaling hydrogen gas around the time of surgery could help control pain and reduce inflammation afterward. It involved 37 adults having a specific back surgery for a herniated disc. Researchers measured patients' pain levels and blood markers to see if the gas made a difference.
