First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study tested a new method called the 'Huaxi Tunnel Technique' to protect the nerve that controls the voice box during thyroid surgery. In 238 patients, surgeons used a diluted epinephrine solution to create a fluid tunnel around the nerve, aiming to reduce injury and voice problems. The approach was compared to traditional nerve dissection to see if it lowered the risk of nerve damage and improved safety.
