AI helps doctors choose right brain surgery for kids
NCT ID NCT07330206
Summary
This study looked back at 800 children with congenital hydrocephalus (fluid buildup in the brain) to see which of two common surgeries worked better. Researchers used machine learning to analyze brain scans and predict which children would do best with a less invasive surgery versus a traditional shunt. The goal was to create personalized treatment plans to improve children's long-term brain development and reduce the need for repeat operations.
