Kidney surgery linked to scrotal complications, study finds
NCT ID NCT07483463
Summary
This study looked at whether men who had a specific kidney surgery (laparoscopic pyeloplasty) were more likely to later need surgery for a hydrocele, a fluid buildup in the scrotum. Researchers analyzed health records from over 15,000 men in Ontario, Canada, comparing those who had the kidney surgery to similar men who did not. The goal was to understand if the kidney surgery increases the risk of this scrotal complication.
