First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study looked at whether drinking an extra 1.5 liters of water each day for a year could lower blood sugar levels in adults who are dehydrated and have high blood glucose. About 800 participants were split into two groups: one received lifestyle advice plus extra water, the other only lifestyle advice. The goal was to see if staying well-hydrated helps control blood sugar and reduce diabetes risk.
