First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study tested a special dental device (hybrid rapid maxillary expander) combined with tiny bone perforations (MOPs) to widen the upper jaw in 14 adults aged 17-23 with a narrow jaw and crossbite. The goal was to see if this approach could safely increase jaw width. Results may help adults avoid more invasive jaw surgery.
