First seen May 23, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tested a program called Naungan Kasih-Hybrid that combines a short in-person session, teacher-led WhatsApp groups, and a chatbot to help parents in low-income Malaysian families support their children's learning and behavior. About 772 parents and 754 children from 50 preschools took part, with half receiving the program and half on a waitlist. The goal was to see if this low-cost, digital approach could improve parenting skills, child development, and reduce stress.
