First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study looks at whether hybrid closed-loop systems (smart insulin pumps) can improve heart and blood vessel health in adults with type 1 diabetes. One hundred participants with poorly controlled diabetes will be assigned to either a smart pump, an added diabetes pill, or intensified insulin injections. Researchers will measure artery stiffness and heart function at 6 and 12 months to see which approach works best.
