First seen Feb 03, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tests whether lowering body temperature to about 33°C for 24 hours after severe, hard-to-stop seizures improves brain recovery at 90 days. It involves 466 adults on breathing machines, comparing cooling to standard temperature control. The goal is to see if cooling reduces brain damage and the need for strong sedative drugs.
