First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tested whether adding hyaluronidase (an enzyme that helps fluids spread) to a standard numbing medicine could improve pain relief after cesarean section. 114 women received an ultrasound-guided abdominal wall block with either plain bupivacaine or bupivacaine plus one of two doses of hyaluronidase. The goal was to see if the additive could lengthen pain-free time and reduce the need for morphine.
