Scientists test humans with ticks to unlock future vaccine
NCT ID NCT05965635
Summary
This study aimed to find out if people can develop immunity to tick bites, which could help create a future vaccine against tick-borne diseases. Eleven healthy volunteers who had never had a known tick bite were exposed to lab-raised, disease-free ticks multiple times over several months. Researchers measured how well the ticks fed and looked for signs of the volunteers' immune responses to see if protection developed.
